Leanne will offer a gentle yoga class at 8pm on Sunday, Sept. 17th in honour of Kristin Johnston. She was a yoga teacher based out of Halifax who was murdered by a romantic partner in March of last year. Sunday would have marked her 34th birthday. We are asking for a donation of $10 (or more) and the proceeds will go to The Haven’s Come Alive (www.thehaven.com) bursary program. Please let us know if you plan on attending, and if the interest is very high we may need to find a bigger venue or offer 2 back-to-back classes. Leanne is honoured to help celebrate the beautiful life of this woman whose life was tragically cut too short.

INTRO TO ACRO-YOGA!

Start your new year by shifting your perspective and exploring a new relationship with gravity! Our wonderful friend Alissa Sylvester will be facilitating this playful Intro to Acro-Yoga workshop on Friday,
Jan 2nd, from 3:30- 4:45. It will be a ‘pay what you can’ class, and because space is limited it would be nice to know who is coming (llaracey@gmail.com)

Rosalynn Iuliucci- GYROTONIC and manual therapy at Nava Yoga
Rosalynn Iuliucci will continue to be at Nava Yoga this fall to work with individuals who seek preventative and rehabilitative health. Rosalynn’s professional practice includes, but is not limited to: GYROTONIC and osteopathic principles (5th year student at College del Etudes Osteopathique), as well as cranial-sacral therapy, lymphatic drainage, myo-fascial release, gentle musco-skeleto manipulation, yoga, martial arts and pilates. Individuals seeking good health, pain relief, or who suffer from movement based dysfunctions or systemic dysfunctions (circulatory, neurological, digestive, hormonal, or respiratory) would benefit from working with Rosalynn. She offers a sliding scale of $50-$75 and would like you to confirm your payment method and amount before your visit. Most appointments are 60-75 minutes for the 1st visit, and 45-60 for the second.

Conscious Communication

Join us as we discuss and explore Marshall Rosenberg’s Non-Violent Communication, as detailed in his book: Non-Violent Communication; A Language of Life. You do not need to have read to book to join in these sessions. Some of the topics that we will discuss include: communication that blocks compassion, observing without evaluating, identifying and expressing feelings, making requests, receiving empathically, and expressing anger and appreciation. We will encourage engagement with the material by employing thought-provoking and heart-opening exercises, and sharing insights with one another. Please feel free to drop-in to any of the meetings. You do not need to commit to the whole 7 weeks. We welcome people to share in the role of facilitation, but it is not expected. All ages welcome. No charge, but donations to the studio welcomed!

Yin Yoga- A Path to Body Awareness

With Kelley Consolvo

Sunday, March 23rd, 1pm-3pm at Nava Yoga in Sackville

Yin Yoga helps you slow down long enough to notice how your body is feeling. By connecting to your breath, the body becomes more self-aware and sends vital energy where it is needed. In this workshop you will learn about the meridians (energy lines) of the kidneys, heart and lungs. You will also practice poses that clear energetic pathways for these essential organs to function their best!

This is a by-donation class. To reserve your spot, please write to Leanne at llaracey@gmail.com.

Kelley Consolvo is a certified yoga teacher who trained at the Amana Institute for hatha yoga and at Satori in Fredericton where she completed her yin yoga teacher training. She has been teaching since 2010.
